Public Birth Records

September 24th, 2008

Public birth records are kept by the state officials of each state in the US. The records are usually
based on the submission of birth records from the hositals.

Today, public
birth records are filed with your local county registrar and stored
electronically. There are many sites that allows you to get copies of birth
certificates. The birth record is the best way to proof a person’s age. You can
obtain the birth records by contacting the county or health department. They
are needed when applying for driving license and a passport.

A certified copy
of the birth certificate is provided by the Vital records office. This copy has
the state registrar’s raised seal and signature and can constitute of an
identification paper for someone. Click here to find out where you can access
